Gunmetal
Gunmetal is the name of a copper-zinc-tin (CuSnZn) casting alloy. The main alloying constituent is besides copper, tin with 1,5 - 11 %, zinc 1 - 9 %. It contents also a little part of lead and nickel.
Gunmetal has very good sliding properties , wear resistant and cavitation resistant. This alloy is used for hydraulic equipments, ordinary and high required bearings, bushes, gear wheels and fittings. As well as for plain bearings in the engine building.
